The six talented women who wrote the stories that make up Love on a Harley should be proud of themselves. The writing styles were similar enough that the stories flowed from one to another. The characters were easy to like and the stories wee interesting. What could possibly be better than six hunky alpha men and their Harley motorcycles? As a woman who has enjoyed the occasional ride on one of man's greatest inventions, I can say that the women did a good job describing the feel of riding on the impressive machines. Each of the men had that 'bad boy' feel, but hid a good heart. The women were strong, yet pining for the love of a good man. "Secrets and Lies by Rebecca Andrews--Great story, but I could tell a lot was cut out (so it could be a short story). This one deserves to be a full-length novel. Leader of the Pack by Debi Farr--This very short story is fun, witty, and humorous. Well done! Hitting Paydirt by Billie Warren Chai--From the beginning this story overflows with romance, family ties, and danger. This plot and cast of characters deserve a full-length novel. Teaching Love by Patricia Frank--This one is pure romance, must like a Harlequin Romance novel, and threatened to dance upon my heart strings. The Man Rides a Harley by Diane Davis White--A well written story, even though Duke is too cold, arrogant, and rude almost the entire length of it. In my opinion, this is another tale that deserves to be a full-length novel. Bad to the Bone by Deborah MacGillivray--This restaurant seems to be stuck in the 1960's and the jukebox could very well be sentient. I definitely feel as though ghosts are watching Gabe and Jocelyn. Three interesting cats break the tension and spookiness with their antics. (One fat cat wears its own leather jacket and helmet as he rides with Gabe on the bike.) The Man Rides a Harley by Diane Davis White--Attorney Duke Mansfield is hired to defend accountant Susannah Davis who is accused of embezzlement. Neither wants to get close to the other, but they can't seem to resist. Bad to the Bone by Deborah MacGillivray--After 20 years away, Jocelyn returns to her home town to sell the upper-class family house where she grew up. Gabriel, having risen in circumstances since his youth, is determined to buy that grand house. Upon meeting again, they each begin to wonder if the feelings for the other kept secret long ago can come to life now. I really enjoyed the 6 stories from Love on a Harley. Gabriel stood in the master suite of Watch Hill, and oddly, felt at home. He figured he would be ill-at-ease because of that old sense of never being good enough. Instead, he could envision this room furnished, with a huge golden oak poster bed with teal colored silk sheets, see himself sleeping there. And he could see Jocelyn, too. See her in his arms.

Gabriel knew in a flash why he'd come back to Kentucky. Why his heart had never been complete. Suddenly, life wasn't on a track going nowhere. He had a goal in mind, and by damn, he wouldn't let anything stand in his way. How stupid not to see it before now.

"Jocelyn, may I take you to supper?" he asked, wanting to be with her a little longer. A lot longer. But Jocelyn Bouchard wasn't a woman to fall into a man's bed on their first date--an unofficial date at that.

She was off kilter and grasping for something to say, torn between the response schooled in her by her grandmother, and Jocelyn the woman who likely never did anything on impulse. That uptight, slightly prissy, upper crust mentality saw him itch to do something wild, just to rattle her out of that staid cocoon. He wondered if anything ever had let loose that side of her nature she'd so long denied.

His mouth spread in a predator's smile. Or perhaps Jocelyn had merely been waiting for him to teach her how to walk on the wild side. He'd like to believe that, but figured it was only his wishful thinking.

"That would be..." She clearly searched for the right word.

He bet Jocelyn didn't have fun. Fun would be a word that Dame Carrie would look down her nose at. She would seek entertainment or diversion, but never fun.

"We ... we could go to The Windmill." Her brown eyes flashed, fixing on the idea.

He went still. "You think I can't afford to take you anyplace better?"

Her happy expression slowly faded. "Actually, no. I suggested it because I've always liked The Windmill. I ate there for lunch occasionally in the summers, but never have been there for dinner. Always wanted to." She gave him a faint lift of her shoulders. "Well, not a good idea, I suppose. I didn't mean anything by it, Gabriel."

He felt like a horse's arse, suddenly wondering how isolated she'd been living at Watch Hill. Had she looked over the way to see The Windmill in the distance and longed to be there with the other kids her age? He'd caught sight of her now and again, riding that big black horse of hers on the property. Truth be told, he purposely sought out Jocelyn. She'd always been by herself. He'd never spied her with girlfriends. No parties were held at Watch Hill. Thinking back on those times, he questioned if she'd been as lonely as he'd been.
