Lane could feel her stomach start to do flip-flops. What on earth was Grant doing in her daughter's dining room?
Before she could comment, Adam was on his feet. "I'm Adam, Lane's son, it's good to meet you. What brings you up here on Friday? I thought you weren't coming for Mom until Sunday." "That was the original plan, but I changed my mind. I decided I would rather come up early and try to persuade your mother to spend the weekend with me in Door County." "D-D-Door County?" Lane stammered. "Just what are your intentions, Mr. Price?" Adam demanded. Lane could see the veins in Adam's neck pop out and his face become red with anger. "If you must know, I plan to seduce your mother and make her fall in love with me. I realize she was very much in love with your father. Nothing can change that. But he's been gone for over a year. It's time she started to live again."
