"This is a must have for every teacher library! A funny yet poignant glimpse into the crazy, happy, sad, wonderful world of teaching... I laughed out loud."

Dissed by a Third Grader
His fist is shoved into his mouth, lips reaching over the knuckles.
I kneel down so that we are eye to eye and say, "Take your hand out of your mouth, please."
He just stares at me.
Again. Firmly this time.
"Take your hand out of your mouth."
Slowly he withdraws his middle finger until it is just past his upper lip. When suddenly, it snaps to attention; erect, motionless, a solitary digit pressed hard against the tip of his nose.
