Madison opened her eyes, the pain in her head gone. She felt unusually high, her arms and legs strangely lethargic. It wasn't a bad feeling. It was actually welcome after the nightmare she'd been through.

"How are you feeling, Madison?"

Madison gasped, turning her head to the side, finding a man sitting on the hospital chair near the bed. Delicious. As soon as the word entered her mind, she shrugged it off. Now was definitely not the time to be drooling over a gorgeous male, but she felt relaxed and slightly goofy. Perhaps it was the drugs that made her think it, or just her reaction to him, but this man made her mouth water. He sat back, his black hair gleaming under the hospital lights as he scrutinized her with a dark gaze.

Madison stared at his honey-colored eyes. The color definitely stood out against the black clothing he wore. His face was all rugged, his nicely trimmed goatee giving him a sexy pirate look. He wore a black T-shirt, black jeans, and black boots. His arms were bare, the cut muscles exposed. Madison licked her lips, her mouth watering at the sight of his dark mocha skin. She saw his cop badge on the front of his jeans, and the gun clasped in the holster. Her gaze lingered in the area, tempting her with what he had hidden underneath.

"How are you feeling?" the sex god asked once more.

Madison drew her eyes from the area she really had no business looking. "I feel wonderful." She laughed, sure now that the drugs were making her silly. Whatever it was she had taken left her feeling lightheaded and lethargic.

"I'm glad," he replied, rising to his feet and walking over to her bed.

His voice flowed over her like silk, the hint of a Spanish accent inflaming her senses as recognition took hold.

"Your voice sounds familiar. Was it you who gave me the pills before?"

"Very perceptive of you. The doctor left them on the table with directions for you to take them once you awakened." He stopped at the side of the bed before reaching out and taking her hand into his. "My name is Dominic Morales. I'm a detective with the NYPD."

"Nice to meet you, Dominic," Madison replied, relieved to finally put a name to that sexy face. "How do you know my name?"

"Nice to meet you, too, Madison. And it has become my job to know everything I can about you," Dominic replied, stroking the inside palm of her hand.

That was not the answer she expected. But Madison's brain couldn't function as she concentrated on the way he touched her. The sensations were pleasant. His hands felt calloused against her skin, creating a slight arousal throughout her body.
