Description: Family dynamics have a far reaching affect on people. Wealth such as that of Randolph Ord's family and poverty like that of Danielle Ord's family show no favorites when a family ceases to function as a cohesive unit. Danielle Ord watched her parents play out their roles in an abusive marriage, she exists in an abusive relationship fueled by alcohol and drug abuse which began as rebellion against the parental expectations Randolph Ord III experienced. These same expectations caused sibling rivalry to turn deadly. The abused wife is ready to resort to an elaborate murder scheme that she designed and at the same time Ruth Ord, the sister, plots to have her brother murdered. When the two women's paths cross their plans are altered. Randolph Ord III still turns up dead. However, it is now up to detective Sandy Marsh to find the real killer. Is his judgment being compromised by the growing attraction he feels toward the newly widowed Danielle Ord? Both women have motive and opportunity, but a third figure emerges with ties to organized crime.

Randy Ord III, heir to the Ord mining Company fortunes is dead. Danielle Maynard Ord, the victim's wife, fostered an elaborate plot to kill him to end his abuse. Ruth Ord, the victim's sister, tired of parental favoritism to the exclusion of her contributions to the family also had a motive to want him dead. Beatrice Ord, mother of Randy and Ruth, was used to manipulating and controlling as the matriarch of the Ord dynasty.
