Slowly, he turned and my breath caught. A spear of unknown sensation shot through me and I staggered back. Never in my life had I faced a man with such a handsome demeanor.
He was tall, much taller than any man of my acquaintance, over six feet, and very muscular. He had a square face, a jaw as firm and rigid as I had ever seen and a full mustache covered the upper lip of his full mouth. He had dark, intense brown eyes, and his thick wavy hair was nearly black. He was breath-catching handsome with an aura of confidence radiating from him that quite took my breath away. No wonder this man gave orders and everyone bowed to his commands. He also seemed cold. As if there was no one, or nothing for which he held any real affection. I wondered if I could grow to like a man so obviously cold. He pointed to one of several chairs surrounding the huge desk which occupied a place of honor in the room. "Please be seated," he ordered, his voice curling around me. Suddenly, I was afraid. What did this man want with me? Why had I been summoned?
