Chapter 1

She saw him in the crowd outside the busy club. Unlike the other men he stood with, he was not loud or obnoxious, and his behavior had not deteriorated to that of a pre-pubescent. He was very good-looking, tall and clean-shaven. His posture and body language spoke to his confidence; a natural leader without being domineering or aggressive. The dark leather jacket he wore stretched tight across his broad shoulders, emphasizing his well-toned physique. Her eyes trailed over his strong jaw line, his crooked smile and indigo eyes.

She took a chance and touched his mind, pleasantly surprised by what she discovered. Despite a stressful job and a recent marriage break-up, decency and sincerity shone through. An honest-to-goodness nice guy.

Yummy, she thought, and then took her place in line

Jake had just taken his hand off the door, after hearing the satisfying click of the lock falling into place, when she was on him. As her nimble fingers unbuttoned his shirt, he realized she had managed to strip down to her bra and panties in the mere seconds he had his back turned. She means business. In seconds his clothing joined hers on the floor. She led him in the direction of his bedroom, as though she had been there before. Mementos of his ex-wife mocked him as he passed.

The fact that he still had to clear the photos and other reminders of Karen from the modest bungalow suddenly seemed sad and embarrassing. Burying his nose in his work had been his way to cope, but now that another woman was in his house he could clearly see he had not dealt with the break-up at all. Jake had always been a strong man, the type of guy other men looked up to, wanted to be buddies with, and were good-naturedly jealous of. Since his marriage went kaput, he had been acting like a wimp.

This is just what I need, he thought.

He watched as she walked to the bed. The cut of her blood-red panties accentuated her tight bottom, a sight that Jake could not seem to take his eyes from. The waist-length waves of her hair were tossed over her shoulder, a shade almost identical to her underwear. He guessed he would find out soon if she was a real redhead.

"Are you coming?" she purred and then crooked her finger in his direction.

She turned to face him, and his eyes were immediately drawn to her ample cleavage, sitting high and round for maximum effect by her push-up bra. Jake's groin tightened with good old-fashioned lust. His reaction drew a smile from her. Jake wanted to pinch himself to make sure he was not dreaming.

He walked over to her. With a firm grip of his shoulders she guided him to a seated position on the bed and straddled his body with her long, well-toned legs. She was tall, meeting him eye-to-eye. He slid his hands up her legs, cupping her buttocks to press her more firmly against him. She could no doubt feel his growing erection. As she rubbed against him her hair brushed over his hand, the long strands soft as down. It sent a shiver through his body.

Her warm lips were on his throat as he fumbled with the hook on her bra. At last it gave way, and Jake tossed it aside. Her lips moved to his, her tongue probing. Jake felt the room begin to swirl, his heart pounding like a jackhammer.

"Are you going to tell me your name?" he blurted out.

"Does it matter?" Her voice was rich and melodic. As she waited for her answer she regarded him with eyes as blue as a spring sky.

"I guess not."

She stood, dropping her panties to the ground. Her confidence and self-assuredness was more of a turn-on than Jake could ever imagine. And by God, she was a natural redhead. His body reacted to her voluptuous figure with gusto. He was so tired of women who thought being thin to the point of emaciation was sexy. The straight nose and tilt of her eyes made him think of Eastern Europe, yet her beauty was all hers, unique. She did not look like any other woman he had ever seen.

He leaned back and let her lick her way up his body. Her tongue moved like lightening, yet the touch was a whisper that left him aching for more. At thirty-eight years old, Jake McCormac was in good shape, muscles defined from regular workouts and long hours on the job. He was a police officer, and the past two years in Violent Crimes had seen his overtime almost match his assigned hours. No wonder Karen had left him.

A sharp tug to his boxer shorts snapped him back to reality. Soon lips were touching him in a way that could not have been more perfect if she had direct access to his brain. She sucked and nipped her way along the underside of his shaft, finally taking the length of him into her mouth. He felt warm, loose, and more aroused than he could remember being in his life. A sex-induced haze settled on his brain, preventing any type of coherent thought from getting through.

A crackle from the condom wrapper being opened seemed very far away. Jake opened his eyes as she slipped it on him. Then he felt her heat. He sighed as she began moving up and down, letting the waves of pleasure roll through his body. Her hands pressed against his chest as she braced herself for better leverage, then slipped over the curve of his shoulders. As her rhythm picked up, the look on her face changed. What had once been an alluring, seductive smile now became a grimace. Her face flushed, but to Jake it did not seem to be a healthy or a normal response. Something was definitely off.

Fear began to take root in his mind, but the physical satisfaction was unrelenting. Jake wanted to struggle, to cry out even, but found he could not. The closer he came to orgasm, the less control he had over what was happening to him. He could barely discern anything past the edge of the bed. With the comforter beneath him balled up into his fists he lost all feeling in his legs. Fear and arousal joined to form a weird super-feeling he wasn't sure if he liked or not.

When at last his orgasm came, his partner gave a low, guttural sound that caused the small hairs on his arms to stand at attention. It was the sound of a wild feline, a tiger who had finally captured her prey. His heavy lids fluttered open, revealing a strange creature perched upon his body. It was the woman he'd came home with, and yet somehow not. She took a few moments to bask in the glow of having accomplished her intended mission, running her sharp pink tongue along her lips. Her satisfied sigh made Jake tremble. Jake tried in vain to understand what had changed about her. His eyes slipped closed again, his body so heavy he could not have roused himself if the house were on fire. In that moment he did not care.

"Thank you," she said, sliding off of him.

He heard the sounds of her collecting her clothing and then the door opening. After that there was nothing.
