I took a deep breath as I pulled the catering van up outside the office building. Just five weeks in business and my niece had fucked things up big time. She'd delivered the sandwiches to the baby shower and the goodies intended for that client--complete with finger sandwiches, cupcakes in the shape of baby bottles and booties, and oh, yes, let's not forget the large pink frosted cake topped with more baby decorations--to the business luncheon. The CEO had called me and demanded I get over to his office ASAP. So here I was literally shaking in my shoes.

I hadn't met him, just his assistant who'd stopped by the store to place the order. "Make sure it's delivered on time and that everything is perfect... No, make that better than perfect. Don't in any way piss off Mr. Roberts or you'll never work in this town again. However, do a great job, and you'll be the number one caterer in the state."

Not one to shy away from a challenge, I decided to go all out with his order. Forgetting about making much profit this time around, I'd opted for top-of-the-line ingredients for the sandwiches and pastries. Everything looked perfect, and I was more than proud when I'd loaded the food into the van for delivery.

I slapped my palm against my forehead. Stupid me for giving a job like this to my niece. I blame her head-in-the-clouds disposition on her mother's side of the family and not my brother's. However, she's still my own flesh and blood, and everyone gets one free pass, right?

Glancing up at the building again, I gripped the steering wheel. I had to do this. As a new business owner I had to take the good with the bad. And how bad could Adam Roberts be?

I grabbed my purse, opened the van door, jumped out, and walked to the entrance without thinking about what lay ahead or how I was going to calm down the client.

A security guard stopped me on my way to the elevator.

"My name's Amy Withers, from Cater To You, and I'm here to see Adam Roberts."

"Just one minute." He picked up the phone on the desk and pressed three numbers. "Mr. Roberts, there's a Ms. Withers from Cater to You here to see you."

He looked at me as I heard a man's voice on the other end of the line.

"Okay, will do, yes, sir." He put the phone back in the cradle. "Level 6, first door on your right as you exit the elevator."

My sudden burst of confidence somehow went out the window as I rode up to the sixth floor. My legs shook, my palms grew sweaty, and by the time I knocked on the oak door with a brass plate that said Adam G. Roberts, CEO, I was a nervous wreck.

"Come in."

His voice was deep...sexy. I pushed opened the door and stepped inside to see him writing at his desk. He didn't say anything but continued scribbling. I swallowed. From what I could see of his face, holy shit, he was gorgeous. Dark hair, slightly tanned skin, strong jawline, broad shoulders...

He looked up. Long eyelashes, hazel eyes... "Are you just going to stand in the doorway ogling me or what?"
