Charles turned his head when he heard footsteps. He looked up from the book in his lap and pulled himself forward in the armchair to look at the library doors. It was almost midnight. He didn't think anyone would still be up, but he'd recognized the sound of the boards outside the door creaking. He got up to check the doors, but they swung open before he reached them, and a blur of blonde hair and black lace swept into the room. She locked the door behind her.
He couldn't stop staring at her body, which he could see very well under the sheer, black lace robe she wore. "Amanda?" he whispered.
She turned and smiled at him. His twin sister's best friend, whom he had only met that day, stood before him with only a thin layer of black lace between him and her naked body. He had to be dreaming.
"Hi, Charles."
Her low, sexy tone drew his attention away from her body. His sister was getting married in three days, and Amanda was going to be her maid of honor. He'd picked her up at the airport that afternoon, and they'd chatted as he drove back to the house. He'd found her very attractive and fun to be with, but he didn't think he'd done anything at all to make his interest known. She'd been very talkative and friendly, but she hadn't been anywhere near this friendly in the car.
"Hi." He astounded himself by forcing that one syllable across his lips.
Amanda laughed. The sound sent a thrill through his entire body. Her full breasts bounced beneath the lace as she tossed her hair and moved closer. "You look scared to death." She put her arms around his neck and pressed those luscious breasts against him.
"I'm surprised."
"I'll bet you are."
She rubbed against him, and his cock responded to her nearness.
"Jenna said you're single. Was she wrong?"
"No. I am very single," he said as he stepped back out of her arms. "But we just met. You are very sexy, but we don't really know each other."
"I came here to get to know you."
She advanced again, opening her robe a little. She put his hand on her right breast.
"I think you'd like that."
He had no desire to draw away from her. His fingers wrapped around the soft mound. Her nipple hardened, and he rubbed his palm over it. She brought her mouth up to his and licked his lips. He brought his other hand up so he could cup both of her breasts as she opened up to him. She moaned as they kissed, and he'd never heard a sexier sound. Her soft, full breasts felt good cradled in his hands. He thumbed her nipples, and she began to rub his cock. He hadn't had sex in so long.
He stepped back so quickly he had to steady her so she wouldn't fall forward.
"What's wrong?" she asked.
"You're my sister's best friend. She'll kill me for taking advantage of you."
She stifled a laugh. "I'm not the one being taken advantage of." She ran her fingers down the front of his shirt, but she stopped at his belt and let her hand fall when he didn't move toward her.
"I don't like one-night stands."
She shrugged as she tightened her robe again, mercifully covering her gorgeous breasts. "Who said that was what this would be?"
"You're right. You didn't say that, but we still don't know each other. We might have nothing in common. Good sex doesn't make any relationship."
"I suppose I should be happy that at least you seem as sure as I am the sex would be good."
He let his gaze wander up and down her body again. He did think the sex would be good. The fire building inside him told him it would be amazing. "Any man who didn't want to have sex with you would be put down as an idiot in my book, but I never have sex on the first date. And this isn't even a date."
"I thought you'd be excited by the surprise."
"I never denied being excited." He chuckled, trying to tamp down the nervousness churning his stomach, and met her eyes. "You felt how excited I was," he added in a lower tone. How excited I am.
She smiled a little, but then she sighed. "But?"
"But...I like to know lots of things about any woman I make love with. I want to know her middle name, her favorite foods. I want to recognize her laugh from across a room. Am I crazy? As fantasy-worthy as this moment is, I need to make myself go to my room."
"Alone."
"Yes, alone." He ran his fingers through his hair, relieved he'd been able to resist her seduction yet wondering if it made him, to use his own words, an idiot. "That doesn't mean I don't want to see you tomorrow and get to know you in a more conventional way." End excerpt
