"Sure you don't mind sharing the wedding spotlight with a gay couple?"
"Nope."
I pressed my naked body to Rich's chest, kissing him. His mouth devoured me the way I needed as he hardened beneath me, only his boxer briefs blocking us from satisfaction. I yanked at the elastic, but he stopped me.
"What are you doing?" I asked.
"We can't."
Not again. "Are you serious?
"Yes." He pushed me off him.
"This is ridiculous." After a deep breath, I asked, "Please tell me why you won't have sex with me?"
"I ... I just don't want to."
Stupid answer. "That's your reason?"
"Yeah."
"Well, it's not all about what you want. What about what I want ... what I need? Maybe I need you to make love to me. To comfort me and remind me you love me and..." Why couldn't I be tear-free for one freakin' moment? "Maybe I need to know I'm not broken. Even though this horrible thing happened, I'm still ... useful."
Rich pulled me to him. "You are everything to me."
I kissed him, my lips traveling to his ear. "Make love to me."
It took him a few seconds to give his answer. "I ... I can't. I'm sorry."
