Catch/Caught
by Vivien Dean

Category: Erotica/Exhibitionist-Voyeur Erotica/Gay Fiction
Description: Detective Ryan Siler had the perfect plan. He chose a common dumping ground for gang killings, a dark and lonely stretch of beach, and picked a late hour to avoid interruption. He even got his target to think their meeting was for a business deal. The only thing he didn't anticipate was a witness.

For keyboardist Joel Brennan, the night was all about promise. A great gig, private time with a hot guy...it should've been perfect. And it was, until he inadvertently walked in on a murder. But he did the right thing. He went to the cops to report what he'd seen. He just didn't expect to recognize the lead detective on the case as the killer.

Both men are convinced the other will sell him out. It'll take teaming up to ensure they both stay alive...

"...For those readers who like to dip their toes into dark waters, Vivien Dean's Catch/Caught is for you. From beginning to end, Dean's Catch/Caught is well-written."--Lasha, Dark Divas Reviews

"B+ Rating!...A story with an unusual premise and vivid characters. The excellent start presents a shocking scene both for action and sexiness. I'm a big fan of voyeurism (LOL). It promises the quality and depth of a novel, often missing in shorts. The characters are attractively drawn, which I consider the strength of this story. Whether you like or approve of them, they're in your face, bold and sexy in their own way. The author's style is also attractive--compelling prose, realistic and snappy dialogue, sensual description during the beach scenes. The sex is well written, exciting, and raw. I enjoyed both story and styl."--PettyProse, Brief Encounters Reviews

"4.5 Stars!...Tightly written story--atmospheric with a hard and sexy edge. Ryan's fascination with Joel's sexuality is cleverly written, with his imagined suggestive acts provocatively raising the heat. The background setting of a seedy cityscape includes description of a disreputable Malibu club; the overall atmosphere is on the squalid side of gritty. However for all the well-written realism, this new relationship still creates a good feeling for the future of both characters. I really enjoyed this one; beautifully paced, intense, and with original characters that weren't easy but were compelling. Recommended."--Raine, Reviews By Jessewave

He couldn't breathe. From the cops' point of view, it would make perfect sense. They would have no reason to believe anything he might say if he recanted, and every reason to stand by one of their own. It was every fear he'd had when he'd first recognized Siler inside, brought to its sickening, inevitable conclusion. The one that had him fighting with everything he had to stay out of jail for a crime he didn't commit.

Siler tilted his head, his gaze thoughtful. "Let's take this someplace else and talk about it. You look like you could use a drink."

His bark of laughter was drowned out by nearby traffic. "So you can finish what you didn't do at the beach? No thanks."

"I wasn't going to kill you."

"You chased me with a gun."

"I didn't shoot."

"You shot Roach."

"Because I was there for him. Not for you."

"Pardon me if I don't believe a crooked cop."

Siler's lips thinned, but rather than diminish how sexy his mouth was, it sent a jolt to Joel's cock, images of what it would be like tight around his shaft beating down the memories of the beach. "You don't know Jack."

He shook his head. "If only that were true." Ducking beneath Siler's arm, he surprised the man by darting around him and tossing back his key ring. Siler caught it without flinching, his eyes narrowing with every yard Joel put between them. "Keep the car. And good luck with your investigation. I'm done."

"This isn't over, Joel."

Oh, yes, it was. Flipping Siler off, he quickened his pace, keeping an ear out for the sound of the man following. None came.
