Loves Seafood and Sunsets, Can't Dance
by Betty Jo Schuler

Category: Romance
Description: When Audrey sees, a singles ad that says, "SWM, dark hair, dark eyes; loves seafood and sunsets, can't dance. Seeking red-haired beauty queen," she's sure it's the guy she dated years ago, looking for her. She wanted to hear those "three little words" but he never said them, so she found someone who did. Twelve years, as many pounds, and a failed marriage later, she's willing to take a chance.

"Answering a singles ad is the craziest thing you've ever done," Audrey's sister Julie told her. "The man could be an ax murderer. At the very least, he's mud fence-ugly or--"

"Just plain lonely, like me." Audrey interrupted. Fastening the last button on her silk blouse, she picked up her car keys. "Besides, I'm no beauty. Not any more." Running her hands over slightly rounded hips, she grinned. "Don't worry, sis. I have a good feeling about this."

"Audrey, please don't--" were the last words she heard as she shut the door. Wheeling her battered red sports car through late afternoon traffic, Audrey felt guilty for letting Julie worry. She should have told her the man she was meeting was Kenny, but what if she was wrong? What if it wasn't her high school sweetheart? Tapping her foot impatiently at a red light, she recalled the personals ad: "SWM, dark hair, dark eyes; loves seafood and sunsets, can't dance. Seeking red-haired beauty queen." It had to be him!
