ONE
Courtland lay in bed with one arm flung over his eyes as he remembered all that had occurred last night, it wasn't often that he over indulged and he regretted his lack of good judgement. Hell, he could give Curtis a good beating for his part in it. He let out a soft groan and removed his arm and opened his eyes.
Damn it he should have never taken that damn bet, but after drinking too much brandy he'd been supremely confident that he would win it easily. The stakes weren't high, but being a gentleman there was no way to back out of it. No, he would have to go through with it and at the moment he wasn't sure if he hoped to win or lose.
Either way it was a no win situation, if he won he lost, if he lost he lost. Grumbling he sat up and tossed the covers aside, slipped of the bed and stretched. Naked, he picked up his robe and slipped it on over his trim athletic body.
After tying the belt, he brushed the dark lock of hair that had fallen on his brow away; he reached out and pulled the cord summoning his valet. He needed a hot bath, strong coffee and something hardy to eat before he contemplated on how he was going to win the damn wager.
After a light tap on the door, Frost stepped inside the room. "I have already ordered hot water for your bath and brought you some coffee."
