"Terra Riley is not a teacher and Kyle is not a stockbroker. Their true names are Katherine Teller and James Brobst. This is all about Quinn."
"Because of what he can do, you know--his thing?"
Moke grinned. "Yeah, Josh. His thing."
"How do you know? What is going on, dude?"
"I tried to warn James and Katherine, but I didn't get to them in time. My only hope was to get to Quinn. The problem is what makes Quinn so special, is also what makes him so valuable. I mean, he can heal someone just by touching them." Moke shook his head in wonder. "I was always skeptical, I guess I can't doubt it anymore. Socrates didn't think Quinn survived childhood. For the longest time we thought they'd given up looking for him. We thought he was safe. We were wrong. They found out. They found him."
"Whoa, dude, back up. Exactly who are they?"
Moke pursed his lips, it was obvious he was deciding how much to tell Josh.
"They are Quinn's creators, Josh, and they want him back."
