"This is Atalaya," said Eric.

"Wow!" exclaimed Katie. The Huntingtons would have been able to sit at their breakfast table and watch the ocean. This entire area must have once been cleared so that they could enjoy the sights and feel the ocean's breeze."

"What a view they would have had," commented Aunt Savannah. "I never realized it was this close to the ocean."

"We really need to do some more research," decided Katie.

Since the sun was lowering along the horizon, Great grandma Pru decided that it was time to retrace their steps back to the boardwalk. "Besides," she replied out loud, "I am getting just a little bit hungry."

Hearing no complaints, she led the group back through the pathway from Atalaya toward the oceanfront. Then the group retraced their steps, stopping only when they came to the horseshoe crab that was obviously not going to make it. It was now washed even further up on the shore and was once again upside down. Eric made the decision to add it to their beach treasures and he and Cally carried it back to their spot on the beach. Once there, Eric wrapped the horseshoe crab in his beach towel so that he could carry it better. The rest of the group repacked their beach things and headed toward showers just off the boardwalk. Jesse was first to get rinsed off so that he could do some shaking before they got into the Honda Pilot. Aunt Savannah went next so that she could help Jessie by using a towel. By the time everyone had washed off and the beach chairs were rinsed, Jesse was dry enough to get into the Pilot for the trip back to the condo.

As the group found their seats in the car and made their way toward the park entrance, the younger inhabitants were thinking about Atalaya. It was a great beginning to everyone's summer vacation.
