It was sleep paralysis. She couldn't move. She moaned irritably but knew the impatient sounds she emitted were heard only within her mind. She absolutely hated when this happened. It was like being physically dead with conscious thought. The only upside was at least she wasn't experiencing a nightmare...at least not yet anyway. She lay in her bed, motionless, feeling petulant, her mind grumbling at the inconvenience. She should either be sleeping or awake. This was not her idea of a happy medium!
