Between Us Two
by AKM Miles

Category: Erotica/Gay-Lesbian Erotica/Romance
Description: In this follow up to Between Us, Matt is back from Gatlinburg and Jason is thrilled that they can be together now. He's ready to see if they can become a couple for the long haul. It seems that Matt feels the same way, so things should be fine. Well, until the police think that Matt has kidnapped a child from the school where he works. It hits the fan and there are many things to be sorted out before they can get down to building a life. Matt falls for Jason's two dogs, Jock and Audrey, and the photo shoot takes place, as promised. It's autumn and the area around Nashville is beautiful. Matt and Jason's love is a beautiful thing, too. Their love is strong, but can they work everything out?

Jason's eyes took Matt in, and his heart nearly beat out of his chest. He watched as Matt talked briefly with the hostess and then looked up to see him. Jason raised his hand, and Matt's face lit in that smile that just melted Jason where he stood.

"Stupid, stupid, stupid," he muttered to himself.

"Sir?" a passing waiter asked, perplexed look on his face.

"Uh, nothing, sorry." Jason wanted to push the guy out of the way so he could watch Matt walk to the table. Jason's mumbled words had been for the idiocy of his idea to meet at a restaurant when Matt got back from his trip. What was he thinking? No lips, no tongue, no body, no hands in Matt's lush hair that was tied back tonight. Jason should have at least waited outside so they could go to the car and maybe get at least one kiss in before the meal that was now at the bottom of his list of needs.

"Jason! Hey, man, it's good to see you. How could one week seem so long?" Matt stood inches away from him, and it was all Jason could do not to embrace him and take that mouth. He watched Matt nibble on his bottom lip and couldn't stop the groan that erupted. Matt looked hesitant when Jason didn't answer, like maybe he was worried that Jason wasn't on the same page.

"Has it only been a week? Are you sure? Seems longer. Too long." To hell with it. Jason reached out to grab Matt in a quick hug, patting him on the back and forcing himself to let go before anything started that they couldn't continue here. He couldn't help running his hand down Matt's honey-colored hair, making sure he hadn't cut any of it. Thank God, it was still almost to his waist. Jason actually shivered in response.

"Whew! Scared me there for a second. I thought I was the only one who thought this last week was a year long and lonely as hell." Matt grinned at Jason, then turned to sit down in the booth.

Jason sat, too, and looked over at Matt. His heart pounded with elation at seeing Matt again. Since he'd returned from his trip to Gatlinburg, where they'd met, Matt had been all he could think about. Leaving Matt there and returning to his work in the entertainment business here in Nashville had nearly killed him. "I'm so glad to hear you say that. I was thinking how stupid my idea was to meet here when you got back. Somehow, eating is not high on my list right now."

"Me, either, Jason. How close are we to your house?" Matt said, looking into Jason's eyes, his reason for asking clear.
