Aquamarine Hearts
by Meshella Mullins

Category: Romance/Fantasy
Description: Rosalona was adopted as a young child and on her eighteenth birthday she starts asking questions about her past, but all she gets is a dress that looks like something from the past and a stunning aquamarine heart necklace that she was wearing when she was found. Her parents forbid her to go searching for answers but, being plagued by very real dreams of a darkly handsome man, she runs away in search of answers. What she doesn't expect to find is the past, and there she finds herself in the arms of the man who haunted her dreams, body and soul. Rosalona felt his lips press against her own and knew this was no hallucination, but reality. Surrender was only a heartbeat away, or was it? She was a woman who would answer to no one and certainly not this high and mighty prince of Sunset Island. No sooner did the thought enter her mind than it disappeared and they were swept away on a wave of aquamarine desire. There are people that would stand in the way of their love, and a hidden evil that has yet to be revealed that would destroy them. Can she change the future and save her love, or is he doomed to a fate she can not change and a love that only has so much time? Future and past are both forgotten as long as she is in his arms, and with the touch of his lips she knows that at last she is home, as together they fall deep into aquamarine desire and find a moment in time that is theirs alone. And it all began with an aquamarine heart in Thailand and a love as old as time.

"I think I liked you better when you did not speak. Man, I thought only redheads had bad tempers! Now, if you will excuse me, I need to find my way back to my...um...husband," she informed him haughtily. She pulled back from him and she walked past him with her hands covering her breasts, hoping her legs would hold her up and that he would not hear the pounding of her heart.

His eyes narrowed at the determination in her voice. "You think you can trick me, do you not?"

"I am not trying to trick you," she said a little too quickly while she bent down and picked up her bathing suit. She didn't hear him as he came up behind her. As she stood back up, he swept her into his arms and headed for the cave.

"Put me down! What do you think you are doing?" she protested as she squirmed in his arms, but he was relentless in his hold.

"I am going to find out if you are lying to me," he said matter-of-factly as he put his dark gaze on her.

"And just what do you plan to do, give me a lie detector test?" She could almost taste his sexuality, feel it as he caressed her with his eyes. Being so close to him was making her feel all tingly and strange inside. He did not answer her and she desperately looked around for a means of escape, as her body slowly betrayed her. Every sensation in her body hummed with awareness of him.

Entering the cave, he took her down a long tunnel lit with torches. He must have been staying here already, she thought as he turned into a large cavern and she saw a large pallet and supplies in one corner. At the end was a hot spring. Steam spiraled upwards. Tiny crystals glittered all over the inner walls of the cave; it was enchantingly beautiful. Laying her on the pallet, he slowly untied his pants as he stared at her with a dark fire in his eyes.

"W...what are you doing?" she asked softly as she inched back on the pallet. She suddenly felt trapped like a rabbit and he looked like he was going to eat her up.

"As I said, I am going to find out if you are lying.
