Description: Kath Mahoney only attends her friend's first glamour photo shoot because Pippa needs someone to drive her there. Kath expects to find the day boring, but her interest is stirred when the photographer, Rob, turns out to be a sexy, blonde, former glamour model called Robyn. Kath allows herself to be talked into posing with Pippa. She warms to the sexy poses, and enjoys the photographer's attention. When Robyn invites Kath back for a solo shoot, Pippa is crushed. Even before Kath steps into the studio, though, Kath suspects that neither she nor Robyn will be particularly interested in taking photographs.

Morning * * * *
Kathleen Mahoney brushed a strand of black hair around an ear and looked at the sign. Rob Mullan's Photographic Agency, it announced in emerald green letters standing out on a white background.
"It doesn't look particularly impressive," Pippa said, hands on hips. Her head cocked as she regarded the shop front with obvious disappointment.
"As long as he's got a modern studio in there somewhere, I'm sure you'll be fine. Besides, you were told he was one of the best photographers in Dublin."
"I suppose." Pippa chewed her lip and ran a hand through her trendily-dyed auburn locks. She took a breath and stepped inside.
A bell rang somewhere beyond a door marked Private.
Kath followed, and the bell rang again as she closed the door behind her. The reception area was empty, and Kath found herself looking at the walls and their covering of photographs. She nodded at one wall that was covered in pictures of models. Most were of the same blonde in glamour poses. She had expressive, sparkling green eyes. "Look, Pipps. These photos are okay."
"I suppose." Pippa looked up as the Private door opened. A young woman stepped through and asked if she could help.
Pippa's blue eyes danced. "We're looking for Rob Mullan. I've been invited to do a shoot," she said proudly.
The receptionist gave a forced smile and instructed the friends to wait at the top of a flight of stairs.
Kath gave the pictures a last glance before following Pippa. The model, perhaps twenty years old, looked back at her. She was in various states of undress, but always keeping herself covered with a hand or a flimsy garment. So as not to offend mothers bringing their children in for a portrait photo, Kath supposed.
"I hope this Rob Mullan is a decent looker," Pippa whispered as they settled into a couple of plastic seats opposite a closed door. "It'll help me get into the mood for a glamour shoot if there's a bit of talent around."
"I'm sure." Kath flicked through a worn magazine. After deciding there was nothing interesting between its covers, she tossed it back onto a coffee table where it lay next to a vase of dying daffodils.
The door opened.
Pippa looked up, but the expectation in her eyes died as a woman's face peered around the door and shot a confident smile. "I won't keep you a minute."
Kath got a glimpse of green eyes, a turned-up nose and blond bob before the door closed again. She frowned, knowing the eyes were familiar, but unsure where she had seen them before. "We are a few minutes early, Pipps."
"I know, but I'm nervous. I just want to get in there and get on with it."
"You just want to get your kit off for this fantasy photographer of yours."
A sly smile turned up a corner of Pippa's mouth. She touched her hair. "Do you think red's okay?"
"At least it looks semi-natural."
"Yeah, you're a mate, Kay. You were probably right to talk me out of purple."
Kath's response was cut short as the door opened again, and the same blonde invited them through. The friendly smile still played on her lips.
Perhaps early thirties--sophisticated and sexy in green shirt and culottes, Kath decided. The friends followed the woman into a room that looked to Kath every inch a modern photographic studio, with lighting, backgrounds, and cameras lying around. The walls were whitewashed. To reflect as much light as possible, Kath supposed.
"One of you must be Philippa? Philippa Laws?"
"That's me. We've come to see Rob Mullan. I was at a modelling fair when one of his colleagues--"
"Er," the blonde broke in with a wry smile. "That's me."
"Robyn Mullan." She extended a hand and laughed.
"I'm sorry," Pippa muttered.
"Don't be. Women don't tend to get a look-in with glamour photography, so I admit I shorten my name to my advantage."
"I used to be a model, but gave it up for the other side of the camera when age kicked in."
"Ah." Kath immediately knew where she'd seen the eyes before. "The pictures downstairs."
"That's right. The photos are a good few years old, though. I'm flattered you recognise me."
Kath took the offered hand. It was warm and soft, and she held it for a few moments longer than was probably polite. "I'm Kath. I'm Pippa's friend."
"I take it you're here for moral support?"
"We're flatmates." Kath patted her pocket, giving her keys a light jangle. "And I'm the chauffeur."
Robyn smiled and turned to Pippa.
While the two made small talk about photography and modelling, Kath took the opportunity to study their host. She's in her early thirties, but still with a great figure; the bob with lighter highlights adds sophistication rather than beauty, she decided.
Kath couldn't help comparing Robyn to the pictures on the wall downstairs. The body in front of her had filled in a little, but would still be the envy of many girls ten years younger. The youthful innocence had been replaced by sophisticated maturity, and the long hair was now short and classy.
Pippa padded through a door to change.
"And how about you?" Robyn asked.
Kath's brows rose. "Me?"
"Well, it's just as easy to take pictures of two as it is of one. And if she's with someone she knows, it might ensure that your friend--Philippa, isn't it?--is totally relaxed."
"I haven't got anything to wear." Kath pointed to her casual clothes. "It's hardly modelling material."
"Don't worry about that. I've got a wardrobe through there. You can choose whatever you like." Robyn nodded toward the door Pippa had disappeared through. "Have you ever been photographed before?"
"Not since I was a kid. Mum hired someone every year so she'd have a picture of me and my sister to send to relatives at Christmas."
Robyn regarded her. "You're a gorgeous girl, Kath. I'm pretty sure you'd be really photogenic. I'd really encourage you to give it a go."
Kath's cheeks warmed. "I want to be an archaeologist, not a model," she said. She pushed her hair behind an ear in an embarrassed gesture, but agreed to pose. She followed Pippa into the changing room.
She told me I was gorgeous. A smile curled Kath's lips.
Pippa was already wearing a black bikini top and was pulling at the zip on a pair of denim shorts when Kath joined her in the small room, which didn't seem to be much more than a wardrobe. Clothes hung on three walls, while the door and a tall mirror took up the fourth side.
"So, what are you going to wear, Kay?" Pippa asked, sweeping both arms toward the clothes. The smile had returned to her face once Kath promised to withdraw after a few joint snaps. Pippa pulled out what looked like a piece of blue string and dangled it from a finger. "Knickers?"
"I don't think so. They're a bit skimpy, even for you."
