Bio: Maurice Leblanc was born in Rouen, France, the son of a wealthy shipping owner. He studied law but chose to become a pulp crime writer and police reporter. Arsène Lupin brought him a degree of international fame rivaled only by Sir Arthur Conan Doyle, creator of Sherlock Holmes. He died in Perpignan on November 6, 1941.
