Bio: Jim Woods was born in a grassy ditch at the side of an Arkansas backroad while his family was enroute to Kentucky, on foot. His next journey, alone, was via steam train to California on his high school graduation day. The U.S. Navy showed him that oceans are gateways, not barriers, and he has since set foot on six continents and in six-dozen countries. His adventures include being held prisoner in Angola. He?s a technical writer, magazine editor and independent book editor. He has published six books of his own and several hundred magazine articles in national outdoors magazines.
