Barbara Raffin
Alert me when new Barbara Raffin titles are added

Bio: Barbara Raffin attributes her love of books to a mother who read to her in the early years, gave her extra quarters with which to buy her precious Weekly Reader books in the later years, and never censured her daughter's reading choices. At age twelve, Barbara wrote her first novel in retaliation to the lack of female leads in the adventure stories she loved reading. She sailed through any high school assignment that made use of her writing talents and aced her first college paper in spite of it lacking a thesis sentence. Her novel length work has finaled, placed, and won numerous writing competitions. She even named her newest addition to the family, a Keeshond puppy, Copy as in Copyright, Copy Editor, or Hard Copy. Her published credits include reporting Dog Obedience Competition results and human-interest stories for the local newspaper. Her human-interest stories and satire have also appeared in national publications such as Country Woman, Front and Finish, and Pap Talk. She has served the Upper Michigan chapter of Romance Writer's of America chapter as Newsletter Editor, President, Vice-President, and Librarian. Currently a member of the Wisconsin RWA, she is an active member of the Green Bay/Fox Valley Area. A life-long resident of the Upper Peninsula of Michigan-that's the part of the state south of Lake Superior and north of Lakes Michigan and Huron and their connecting point, The Straits of Mackinac-she's well acquainted with the woodsy lifeand its inhabiting animals such as the wolves she writes about in Wolfsong. She is married to an avid outdoorsman who has always supported her love affair with reading and dedication to writing...even when he appears as the subject of her satire.
