Bio: For many years, Rick Magers was a commercial lobsterman in the Caribbean. He had running gun battles with modern pirates at sea--the basis for his book--Blue Water Adventure: based on a true story. Dark Angels is eight short stories that look into the very darkest side of humans. The Black Widowmaker is the story of a young black girl who never had a chance from the day she was born. His epic historical western saga The McKannahs begins in 18th century Ireland then moves to California, and beyond. A Father's Visit was nominated for the Pushcart Award, and is joined by many other short stories.

His short story, "The Companion" was awarded by Writer's Digest, and is followed by 23 other stories. The Kitchen Sink is a collection of stories--poems--recipes--a glimpse into an old smuggler's past--and other strange tidbits. He's now working on a historical novel about the Caribbean Indians. Carib Indian: Warrior/Cannibal. Emissary of Evil is a baker's dozen of dark stories of horror. The Face Painter is his first book of children's stories, but he recommends that only 'children' from teendom to geriatrics read them. Rick's a licensed airplane pilot, boat captain, diver, newspaper columnist, and now the publisher of Grizzly Bookz. When time permits, he still indulges his favorite pastime: writing short stories. Many have been published in national and international magazines, and are now offered in books.

Futures Mysterious Anthology Magazine recently nominated Rick for the Pushcart Award for his story--"Dottie's Back Home"--a poignant glimpse of his wife's death and departure after 41 wonderful, and often exciting years together. Soul mates from the moment they met. Rick just completed the true story "Ladybug and the Dragon." He wrote it without charging and paid the publishing cost plus donated all profit to the Solomon family. The story is about 4 1/2 year old Tampa native, Katia Solomon's battle with leukemia "For Half Her Life."
