Michael Swanwick
Alert me when new Michael Swanwick titles are added

Bio: Michael Swanwick is considered one of the top SF short story writers. In recent years, his output has been exceptional in both quantity and quality. In 1998 he won his first Hugo award, and that year he had an unprecedented 3 nominees at the same time! This year he had two nominees at the same time for the Nebula short story award (alas, he did not win) one of which was "Ancient Engines," available here at Fictionwise. "Ancient Engines" was a Hugo nominee this year, and another Swanwick story, "Scherzo for Tyrannosaur," won the Hugo (both are also available here)! Anyone who can with regularity achieve multiple nominations for different stories for major awards is clearly at the height of their creative powers. Swanwick's stories also appear with great regularity in the "Best of the Year" SF anthologies by both Dozois and Hartwell, and for good reason. Swanwick also writes novels, which lately have tended toward Fantasy and are always well received. If you are unfamiliar with his work, what are you waiting for?
