Paul Edwards
Bio: Authors of books that have sold over one million copies, Paul and Sarah Edwards write, speak and broadcast about new and better ways to live and work. Since their book Working From Home was published in 1985, the Edwards have been the subjects of scores of articles in such publications as The Wall Street Journal, The New York Times, Los Angeles Times, Business Week, and Newsweek. The Edwards are the co-authors of fourteen books, including Working From Home, now in its fifth edition. Other recent titles include Changing Directions Without Losing Your Way, The Practical Dreamer?s Handbook: Finding the Time, Money and Energy to Live Your Dreams, and Making Money in Cyberspace, which received the best general computer book award from the Computer Press Association. The Edwards? print columns appear in Entrepreneur Magazine and Costco Connection, and from 1988 until 1998, they were contributing editors and columnists for Home Office Computing magazine. In addition to achieving acclaim as authors, for fourteen years Paul and Sarah produced and co-hosted an hour-long show on radio's Working From Home Show on the BusinessTalkRadio.Net (formerly the Business News Network). They also hosted the weekly television show Working From Home with Paul and Sarah Edwards on Scripps-Howard's Home and Garden cable network, which the network ran for four years. The Edwards have been retained by such corporations as Ameritech, Avery-Dennison, Bell Atlantic, Canon, Compaq, DuPont, Epson, Fuji, Hewlett-Packard, Intuit, Mail Boxes Etc, Microsoft, Northern Telecom, Okidata, Sears, Symantec, US West, and Xerox for their expertise. Paul and Sarah are keynote speakers for professional and trade associations. Sharing Ideas, the International Newsmagazine for Speakers, Meeting Planners and Agents, named them "Consummate Speakers for 1996." They have appeared on radio and television both on national shows as well as in nearly 100 U.S. cities. They also serve as Senior Fellows with the Center for the New West. Paul, educated as an attorney, and Sarah, a Licensed Clinical Social Worker, brought their careers home in 1974. In 1980 they began researching the work-at-home phenomenon, a time when working at home was considered unusual. But with the advent of personal computers, the Edwards realized that how people work would change and what they now call the open-collar work force would emerge. Far from newcomers to cyberspace, from 1983 through 1997, they managed the Working From Home Forum on CompuServe, which they founded. They now are mentors on Inc.com and write a monthly column for Homeofficemag.com.
